The basics
Does it cost anything?
No. Playing, downloading and using the desktop app are free.
How do I publish a work?
Upload an offline HTML package (index.html at the zip root, spareStart / sparePause / spareSnapshot, 150 MB max) with a cover and description. It goes live after review.
Publishing
How do works run in the desktop app?
Save a work or import its pack. The app opens it when AI starts generating and pauses it when done, keeping progress.
Which systems are supported?
macOS 14+ and Windows 10/11. The iPhone app, on the App Store, manages your account and devices.
Using Spare
Does Spare read my conversations?
No. Spare only detects whether AI is generating; it never reads prompts, answers, code or files. Community works run offline in an isolated sandbox with no access to your account.
What does review check?
No network, no tracking or third-party scripts, pauses anytime, works in a small window. If rejected, we explain why.
